coats and magic and snow

You know that weight-less, white fuzzy stuff that flutters from the sky? Yes. Snow. To me, snow is raining magic.

When I saw the weather forecast was predicting snow, I couldn’t stop checking it. Well, that’s a lie, it was both dad and I who couldn’t stop checking it (I think he was just as excited as I was). Every hour or so, we’d take a sneaky look at it, just to keep up to date with the big event. And when it started, my brain had some sort of ‘crazy, excited, energetic-big-kid’ reaction, and so did everyone else’s.

Suddenly all I could hear was Dad bounding down the stairs, in his oversized coat and beloved-beanie-that-he-worships, yelling “Its snowing! It’s snowing!”. And indeed he was right. It was snowing.

All I wanted to do was stand there and take it all in – but I had a mission: roll a snowball, throw said snowball at dad, build a snowman, and make a snow angel.

Oh how I love snow! When it’s falling effortlessly from the sky, it would be easy to stand there for hours, mesmerised. So silent and graceful and beautiful. And it even makes freezing to death fun…and I don’t know how else to describe it – so instead here’s some photos to give you an idea…
